Israel Immunological Society
The Israel Immunological Society observes a "Day of Immunology" annually with a general national meeting of immunologists. In 2007 the meeting took place on February 14.
Japanese Society for Immunology
The Japanese Society for Immunology (JSI) organized a novel outreach activity, the Men-eki Fushigi Mirai which literally translates into “Immunity, Wonder, and Future”. The Men-eki Fushigi Mirai was the first JSI-sponsored education activity that was aimed at promoting mutual and direct communication between immunologists and the public, and was coordinated with the Global Day of Immunology 2007. Men-eki Fushigi Mirai was held for two days from May 3, 2007 at Nippon Kagaku Miraikan, The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, in Tokyo. They displayed approximately 50 educational panels specifically made for this occasion, in eight sections ranging from basic immunology to advanced clinical applications. Free printouts of the panels were given to all of the visitors. We also displayed real lymphoid tissues and cultured immune cells under various types of microscopes, live animals, and hand-made models of lymphocyte-dendritic cell interactions. Together with other outreach activities, in Sapporo (Open-campus lecture and exhibition), Kyoto and Okinawa (Visiting lecture at high schools), Tokushima (Science Cafe on immunology), and Kumamoto (Public lecture) during the 21st of April and the 4th of May approximately 3,700 people were introduced to immunology.

Korean Association of Immunobiologists
The Korean Association of Immunobiologists supports the event ‘The Day of Immunology 2007’ and hosted several events such as FIMSA and a National Immunology Conference, and will organise an educational program called ‘Immunology Training Course’ focusing on an overview of immunology, recent advances in immunologic aspects for the action mechanism of diseases, diagnosis and treatment (this summer). In fall (Nov. 8-9, 2007), we are planning to host an international level conference where world-famous scientists including Drs. Peter Doherty and Ralph Steinman participate. This event will be certainly beneficial for the participants and for the public.
Allergy and Immunology Society of Thailand
The Allergy and Immunology Society of Thailand has activities for the "Day of Immunology" together with the celebration of World Allergy day. The topic for the DOI is immunodeficiency, both congenital and acquired as most of our problem is on HIV and AIDS. As we have these types of activities every year, we have approx. 500 participants which includes non-scientists and non-physicians.
Turkish Society of Immunology
The “Day of Immunology” was celebrated by organizing public meetings in five different cities. Schools were visited during the week days, interactive seminars were held and booklets explaining the main functions of the immune system were distributed. TSI also opened a booth in one of the largest shopping malls of Istanbul promoting immunology. “Day of Immunology” badges and T-shirts were distributed. The Day of Immunology has been an excellent way for the TSI to develop its primary aims. TSI looks forward to organising many more DOIs in the future.
