To celebrate the Day of Immunology 2008, the Argentinean Society of Immunology has undertaken the following actions:
- All regular seminars (organized weekly by the Departments of Immunology of different Argentinean Universities and Immunology Research Groups all over the country) and lectures on Basic and Clinical Immunology presented to undergraduate students (in Universities all over the country) during April were open with a short explanation of DoI 2008.
- We developed a poster promoting awareness of DoI that was sent to all members of the Argentinean Society of Immunology to be posted on public institutions and elementary and high schools.
- Television Interview: Dr. Clelia Maria Riera (IUIS Council’ member) was invited to participate in a television interview, where she provided a brief explanation on DoI.

We are trying to coax the big newspapers and TV channels to give us space on April 29. There is a variety of subjects of great interest to the public in general at the moment, like the spread of dengue and yellow fever, outbreaks of leishmaniasis, organ donation and transplantation and of course the ever present stem cell therapies (we are at the moment in the midst of a very important process of discussing if the use of frozen embryo stem cells is constitutional).
