Day of Immunology 2010
For the 6th time, EFIS invites all immunologists to think about fresh and innovative PR activities in combination with the annual Day of Immunology (DoI). The purpose of our endeavour is to raise awareness amongst the public, the press, politicians and decision makers about the critical importance of the immune system in everybody’s everyday life. We are looking forward to witnessing all of your activities 2010!
EFIS outreach 2010: Building tools for everyone

EFIS takes initiatives to provide PR tools for everyone. In 2009, we translated and distributed a book targeting children and lay people: “Your amazing Immune System - How it protects your body” from Japanese to English. To pursue this direction for 2010, the EFIS board decided to support further translations as our first outreach. The electronic version is still available at:

- Secondly, we offer you the shortcut “The Immunology Knight”. You are most welcome to download and spread the movie, and use it freely to promote immunology. The clip is available in English and subtitled in the different languages of EFIS member societies. It was produced as a teaser, to interest laypeople and especially adolescents in immunology.

It will be adapted to the needs and the taste of the non-scientific, fairly young internet user and will likely build a long-term bridge between immunological ambition and entertainment.
